Update on Piedmont mediation

As the end of the year approaches, we wanted to provide a number of updates regarding bargaining for a new contract at Piedmont Airlines.
CWA first entered negotiations for a new contract two years ago. Over those two years, the Company and Union came to agreements on a number of issues, but on the most important issue – wages – the Company continues to penny-pinch at the table. Under the Railway Labor Act, which governs labor contracts in the transportation industry, the next step is federal mediation.
While the government shutdown delayed our previously scheduled October mediation dates, mediation is now scheduled for January 27-29 in Washington, DC.
Over 2,500 letters have been sent to Piedmont Airlines CEO Eric Morgan demanding the Company bargain in good faith. On the Congressional level, CWA worked with Rep. Alma Adams on a letter to Piedmont Airlines that was signed by 81 members of Congress in support of a fair contract.
We must remain UNITED and MOBILIZED. Your support builds pressure and moves the needle at the table. Your Unity and Solidarity will be the key to our success during mediation.
We need YOU to stay engaged, informed, and united in the coming weeks. This is your contract. Your solidarity is our strongest tool at the table!
UNITED WE BARGAIN - DIVIDED WE BEG!!!
